swappin in a 351w into a 88 ranger supercab...c4 tranny..4 inch body lift..
I dont have the factory exhaust manifolds...I hear they wont work anyway...
the question is...what are my options for exhaust?...302 swap headers work on a 351w?..
the engine and tranny are '79 out of a e150..
You could get a "universal" header kit that you cut and weld yourself by rotating the primary runners and fitting on the truck. When you do that, you just tack weld the runners where you want them, and remove the flange from the heads and weld off of the engine.
I would suggest the stock manifolds myself. You already know they fit the engine. Now you need to get them down and under. ANY decent muffler shop can fabricate you a pair of down-tubes to get you there. You still have some flexibility with the engine mounts if you need a half inch here or there. You may loose about 8-10hp with the stock set-up, but you'll gain 15-20lbs of torque. A good trade off for sticking a 351 in there. Send us some pics.... Talk with you guys later....
