Rodney, finally got around to seeing your new truck. Very, very nice. The silver looks terrific. I'm happy to hear how well you like it.

Roy, We did Glacier last summer. It had been on the "bucket list" for thirty years at least. It was truly worth it and now we can't wait to go again. Made our way up through Idaho Falls and Missoula. The West Glacier KOA has to be one of the most amazing campgrounds we have ever stayed in. There are almost too many things to see and do to cram into one trip. On an impulse on our last day, we took the helicopter tour of the Park. It was a crystal clear day and we had a fantastic pilot/guide. He was born and grew up in West Glacier and knew almost every fact about the Park and its history. That was an expensive hour, but worth every last penny. I can show you some of the fantastic pics we got when we're in Maine.

Went from there over to Custer's battlefield at the Little Big Horn and then to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands before heading home. Just an amazing trip! And ready to do it again.

Rodney is stuck in his recliner. Plowing is easy. The rest with the shovel and snowblower, not so much.

Rodney, I'm certain that others on this thread will have opinions too. I completely realize that the haul from New England to The West is huge, but my recommendation would be that you consider scaling back objectives a bit for this trip as you plan it. Even with a very small munchkin in tow, Yellowstone and Teton are easily a week or two. There's just that many things to see. It's way more than Old Faithful and some bison grazing. My wife and I have gone back to Yellowstone and Grand Teton several times, and every time we visit new, breathtaking venues for the first time.

Glacier is not next door. By East Coast standards, it's half a dozen states away. If you go to Glacier you also want to plan for the Canadian side, Waterton, and you quickly have another week at least, once on site.

I'm thinking, to do it right from MA, you'd need at least five weeks for all of it, including coming and going with out killing each other.

Again, I'm sure others may have differing opinions, but my suggestion would be to make more trips, and get the most from each one. And, by the way, we haven't even mentioned the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain, or Utah's Fabulous Five NP's.

My two cents.

Oh, we're planning on making it almost that long Steve. 4 weeks most likely. We need 4 days each way for travel. We are very much the get it done type for driving days. I have no problem doing 800 miles in a day. With the family, I try to keep it around 600 tops. Although, there has been scuttlebutt around the water cooler that the girls may fly and let me do the heavy lifting. This is all up in the air right now though. Depending on Maryann's work schedule, it may have to wait for another time.

Anyways, thanks for the thoughts! Will hit you up for details if this has a chance of coming to fruition...

I went to get the Ford TPMS sensors installed in my trailer tires today. Discount Tire said one tire was 10 years old! I had no idea. The tires looked great, lots of tread. They cut me a deal at 1/2 off on a new trailer tire that I had bought a few months ago as a spare wheel/tire set. That 10 year old tire was likely a time bomb waiting to go off.
