Guess I'm just lucky but everywhere we camp seems to have great cell coverage so I haven't needed a booster for that (yet).

Yep, most places are just fine. When you consider the cost vs. the 1% time you need it, then it indeed does get expensive... relatively. I just love gadgets...

Gadgets are a disease. My wife says I have it. She wants to declutter our lives as we are both retired. Being retired just gives me more time to look for "neat" stuff.

Absolutely. When I was working 7 days a week a before my daughter was born, (this can happen when you work for yourself and can go all night on pure greed...) I had no time to surf, get excited, or shop. Now that the laptop is always on in the background as I chase her around, whenever an idea pops in my head, the research and shopping begins....

Any time I was in a park last winter that had wifi the signal strength wasn't the issue, the network load was, a booster wouldn't fix that. Getting up early or staying up late was the only way to get any usable bandwidth.

I used an iPhone for the hotspot and it worked fairly well, just had to watch the data usage as I have 10gb/month.

Yep, this is exactly why I went with a cell booster vs. a WIFI booster. Lots of times I get excellent WIFI signal but can load a page due to traffic. The hotspot solves that nicely. However, it was pointed out to me that with the range of the WIFI booster I posted is so strong, often you can grab a free signal from someplace other than the campground hotspot. My buddy who goes to Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach can grab McDonalds all day long and beat the campground bogged down WIFI...

Ha, ocean lakes. I took our camper there twice a year (summer and Halloween) for about 8 years. It's a fun place if you can embrace it and take it for what it is, lots of memories. We also went to pirate land quite a bit. We've graduated to port orange, fl now though.

Thanks for the memory trigger Rodney, carry on....

Ocean Lakes.... in August. Ugh, I'm a Scot and as pink as they come. I get a sunburn during a full moon so I will likely cook. Good thing they have three pools, the ocean, and we have three AC's in the RV!

I'm so looking forward to our Ocean Lakes trip this summer, gonna be a great week. We're also stopping at Carowinds Camp Wilderness for a couple days on the way down to camp at the amusement park.
