Good deal Rodney!
Still shooting for April 1st closing or just going to do a few days occupancy to ride out winter?

Just don't go to Illinois! Wow, the toll road was the worst highway I've ever driven.

There's a few doozies there too. Unless they decide to change the way they build highways, it's just going to be that way due to winter freeze/thaw cycles.

Congrats on the pending sale, I'm sure it will all work out. One step at a time, you'll be waking up in what is hopefully your dream home before you know it.

Thanks Eric!

In prep mode today. Just dug out a spare 50a 14-50R box, some cable, and a breaker I have. I'm going to install it on the outbuilding next to where I'll park the RV at mom's. Only down side to the service to that outbuilding is that it's only 30A 240V instead of 50A 240V. I could run a new shot to the house but I think we can get by on 30A. If need be, I'll just put the hot water and refer on propane when the AC's are running. I'll also be limited to 2 AC's instead of all 3. Not the end of the world for sure. That will save me a lot of rewiring as everything I need is right there, 20' from the rig. In the end, being 240V, I'll really have 60A of 120V available. 30A on each leg.

The toll roads here in Colorado are in great shape. Part of that may be due them being fairly new. The other part is that you pay out the nose to go on them. A few years back it was $18 for the entire toll road, one way, for a four wheeler. I did it once with my single axle ATV trailer behind me. I'll never do that again.

Rodney, congratulations on the pending sale. If my wife and I had to full time in my RV she (the wife, not the RV) would need a steady supply of valium.

Add a 6 year old with a mouth that won't stop Jim... It's going to be a challenge for sure...

I agree with all the repairs done to fifth wheel from broken screws etc costing $800 the last trip. I69 around north end of Lansing is where we have our problems most of the time
moved to current location and the only road that is bad from what I have found is I69 just north of Anderson

We'll never see that in savings since we don't pay for electric, and don't camp that much when it's really cold, but the comfort and quietness are worth it to me. When we were looking, I talked with several dealerships. One of them wanted 20% deposit to order, another (our second choice) wanted 10%, and the dealer we ordered from wanted just $1k, which is just the cost of the double pane windows, the only "odd" option from what they usually stock. Had we ordered standard windows, there wouldn't have been a deposit!
Sort of what I expected. Thanks Tom. When we went window shopping back in December the salesman was really trying to get me to jump. New year increases, tariff increases, buy now blah, blah, blah. Didn't seem real thrilled with my lack of caring, but then again he was kind of a dope anyway. I'll look for another salesman next time. I put a 1/3rd down on our current trailer when we ordered. They were looking for 1k. Made writing the check hurt a little less when we picked it up. Don't think I'll have the luxury of paying for a 367BHS cash though!

Great news on the house sale Rodney! Hopefully the house construction will go smoothly and minimize the RV full timing.

I'm trying to be realistic Lee. Building takes 7-9 months so it's going to be a haul in the RV. The good news for us is we have the XLR. Some folks buy a generic RV to live in while they build. I have the exact RV I always wanted to live in while I build. The stress is real but it's a first world problem for sure...

I was thinking the same thing Rodney. I’ve seen people live in some pretty ratty campers while building. Yours is like a castle by comparison.

We had to live in our fifth wheel for a month. In November it got kind of cold 29 deg. Wasn’t fun. And we was 10 miles from the house at a campground.
