That's definitely a tough day to see your little one off to their first day of school Rodney. Bittersweet. Just be careful, because time goes really fast now!

I'm anxious to see your boards after they are completed. I like the chrome, I just think the black plastic on the end looks tacky as hell. Side note, I was checking out the 2019 build site and those boards are now a $740 option instead of the $240 when we bought. I always thought there was a bug on the pricing of those...guess they figured it out.

School went well but the bus was over 20 minutes late dropping her off. Dad was about to panic but I'm sure on the first day, it must have been a zoo getting all those monsters to the right place.

On the boards, I'm not a huge fan of chrome but didn't hate the look. However, with the salt ruining them every 12 months, it's a poor design. Plus, while there are the cleat inserts to step on, your shoes/boots often go past the end of them and scuff the chrome. Having chrome someplace you step doesn't seem real clever to me. I do agree Tom that the extension part looked very tacky from the get go. Like a $20 Auto Zone add on. It should blend much better now with everything being black. Will post pics when they are back together. Oh, and I think the price got corrected on the 2018's Tom. I think I remember seeing that...

Ahhh...don't think I'd looked at the configurator in the 18 months sine I got mine.

Correct. No one takes a nap on their first day of retirement. But day 2 and beyond, you might be able to squeeze one in on occasion.

Today is the day the old camper appeared on Facebook! LOL, I'm famous! Posted by just outta trailer park or something like that.

Weird to see that pic. That was pre hurricane Sandy. Trees, grass, truck, trailer(s), stumps are all gone. Still have the coolers and ez up. LOL. Only thing I miss is owning a vehicle with a manual trans. At one point I opened 4, now zero. Sometime, down the road I want another....................probably a Corvette.

I know that everyone was waiting on my steam mop update. Arrived today and works perfect on our maple floors.

Rodney and Ebay saved me over 50% from Amazon.

Glad it worked out well for you Bruce...

I should be updating my running board project this morning. I was supposed to pick them up last night but the Linex shop didn't finish them until late in the afternoon and they needed some dry time. The shop opens at 9 so I'll grab them around then...

Rodney,

Are the plastic parts being discarded or reinstalled? With the linex thickness, is reinstallation still an option?

All the plastic is being reinstalled. Everything came apart nicely when I disassembled them and there is no issue with the thickness of the Linex and reinstallation... or so I was told. I did leave all the plastics with the Linex shop so if anything needed to be finessed, they would be the ones to do it. Heading down to pick them up shortly so we will see...

Just got them back on. All the cleats snapped back in well. The rear plastic covers over the extensions didn't like the additional thickness of the Linex. So, I removed them when I got home and put a generous portion of black body sealer (which is like glue and dries hard as a rock) under them before putting them back together. I also sealed the seam between the Linex and where the plastic caps start both front and back. Right now the rear caps are clamped as it dries. Other than that, I am VERY happy with the results and look.

Thanks Tom! I've wanted this done since before I had the truck and just now found someone to do it.
