I think I may be the only one able to say "D- All of the above." Looking at my signature, I used to drive the '03 F150, now that my Dad has given me the old Bronco II, guess which one the HUSBAND drives and guess which one the WIFE drives. So I would have to say that they all apply in my sorry case.
I have driven my 1994 PSD Dually 353,000 miles, been in every state except Alaska and Hawaii... and it's still running strong. (knocking on wood) I love my dually, he's an old friend for sure.
My Bronco has been with me for 3 years, and only been put together for this summer. So he's an old friend, but keeps spitting a part out here and there until it grows up a little. It's the whole too much horspower to drivetrain gig - but it's mostly solved. Still, it can be a mechanical struggle to keep a race truck happy... especially one that likes to fly as well as cruise on the ground.
My 1987 F-250 4x4 winter beater / plow truck runs like a sewing machine. He wants a new exhaust system before winter, and what the heck, maybe I'll even throw plugs and wires at it. Another old friend.
Depends on which vehicle....the 02, like seeing an old friend, the 91, like seeing a new friend and a mechanical trouble for now, it shall be fixed. the 71 stang, Like seeing a nightmare of mechanical struggle. But love. I do not, never have, and never will own a vehicle JUST for transportation. They will all have their special purpose and be good at something. Drag racing, autocrossing, off road, towing, running over imorts. Something
