Ranger On-road performance
This is my daily driver, and I keep it on the streets with a ton of urban city and highway driving. One of the things I noticed pretty early on is that the truck is somewhat squirrelly when going over the hot/cold-patch quilts some cities like to call roads, and moreso over buckling in the highways (I love Ohio roads!)

Just to increase overall stability & performance, I've been considering bolt-on anti-sway bars (front & rear) and leaf spring helpers for some time. The ride is pretty solid otherwise, but with my aggressive driving style I could use a little more piece of mind.
As for steering, I've started to notice a small bit of rattle in the unloaded front corner when executing turns over (slightly) uneven pavement at speed. I've been remiss in lubing the grease fittings for some time, and was thinking about replacing the bushings anyways. Is this a job one can handle alone and without affecting alignment? (note: I usually don't put the truck on jacks unless absolutely necessary. ie: rotating tires)
Suggestions? Pointers?
140k miles and no front end alignment done? This is your chance!
You can add sway bars, no problem!
You can add the add-a-leafs if you keep a load in the bed constantly. Stiffer suspensions get pretty knarly on roads like yours. Not worth it right now.
You may need new ball jonts to go with those bushings. You can do all the above work yourself, but get the alignment done SOON after.
Just be patient about the project and take one step at a time. Follow All the directions in you manual and the instructions that come with your parts and you should do fine....
Good luck and get back to us when you get finished.... Anyone else?....
