4.9 idle control
1. it idles at about 800rpm and slightly hunts up and down.
2. the idle adjustment screw has been temperd with.
3. i can unplug my iac and seems to be no change in idle evenwith the adj. screw all the way out.
4. also has a gas smell at idle.
I have changed the following: iac, tps, coil, evp sensor, plugs, cap, rotor, cps ,wires, temp sensor, intake air temp sensor,
i have a restrictor plate at the egr, and no vac. leaks at the evp sensor, tested the ignition control module its good, cleaned the entire air induction system, and replaced the pcm.
Ialso have these additions:k&n fipk, jet super chip( truck does the same with or with out the chip in), power-aide throttle body spacer, msd 6-a ignition . no cat, 3" flowmaster exhaust,
the truck is timed at 10' adv. and at a idle about every.75 of a second the timing jumps to about 18' to 20' adv. and right back.
the air bag light flashes a code at me #32 three flashes two second pause then 2 flashes then a 9 second pause.
lacks power in 5th gear. I am absolutely lost please help
A '94 4.9L doesn't have a CPS. I'd recommend tossing the TB spacer and putting everything back as close to stock as you can. Once you get all the problems sorted out, then you can start putting the mods back on if you think you need to, but mine (a '95 4.9L in my '83 Bronco) will easily push my rolling brick up to 95mph, so I see no need to modify it.
Have you tested the fuel pressure with a gauge? Have you checked the FPR vacuum line for gasoline?
