best torque to offer

Hey all,
Now im putting dual exhaust on my 79 Ranchero, but i need help with the exhaust. I want to get Hooker Max Flow or Hooker Aero Chamber. Now maxflow flows a lot more, but the guys at holley told me aero chamber gives me more torque. Now how can that be? What i want the most is low end torque, so i would really like someones helps to get me the torque. Also, im going from a 302 to a 460. Should 2.5" pipes work for both of those? One more thing. I know x pipe performs better that an h pipe, but how come i hear it sounds like a ricer, but others say it doesnt. Thanks for your help
Danny

x-pipe gives better High RPM results than h-pipe, So it kinda depends on the budget and operating range on which you "need".

Sound, I know several Mustang GT's with them installed. Sure don't sound ricey to me.

You might be choking the 460 with 2 1/2" pipes. I would think about 3" duals. If you want to be different and run a one piece exhaust system, run 4" single. Single 4" will flow almost 150% more exhaust than dual 2 1/2" and 88% of dual 3".

Warning though, READ THIS about going to big. Especially if all you want is torque.

If you are just interested in low end torque, like you say, an "H" pipe will be fine. An "X" pipe only helps in high RPM ranges and really just adds 150 to 200 RPM from what I have read.
