Here's a video from DieselTechRon on a P041 code due to the EGR being clogged. What's interesting he references the latest recall flash that should prevent this from happening, so perhaps some of the mystery from the latest flash is answered.

Drive it hard and avoid idling.

Do your do diligence in the maint. dept.
