Looking at a 59

I've been wanting a 57 or 58 for a long time. Usually I find they are too much $$ or too rusty. Tomorrow I'm going to look at this 59. Didn't really want a 59-60 but this is supposed to be a pretty nice one, no engine/tranny. If I get it, I'll be looking for a nice ribbed hood.

No, it's a 2wd with no engine/tranny. And they must have some highschool kid jacked up thing going on with the rear end. If I get it, I'd get it closer to the ground, get rid of the mags and put stock wheels and hubcaps. More than likely slide in a low mileage 302/C6 I have setting in a 71 motor home. Already have a Toyota P/S and would plan a disc brake conversion on front. I'm just heading out and it's 100 miles so I'll report back tonight.

Well, I got it home and it's just after dark so pictures will have to wait. Rust was typical as expected. The front fenders and lower rear bed were repaired when it was painted maybe 20 some years back. Also has rust in the cab substructure towards the front. Interior is nice, all original ***** with original radio. Steering wheel has lots of big cracks and no horn ring. Now for the bad part, the last engine was a small block chevy.

At least the guy did the honorable thing to yank the SBC outta there. My 50 F-3 MH still sits in the barn waiting for me to yank the 283 that soils its engine bay! Stu
