Hey all.
Here is a little trick that will help out with the trashbag in the trash can. If you use a round trash can in your shop, and have to keep putting the bag back in place because something you threw in it pulled the bag down over and over, try this. Take some hose, such as heater hose, or an old garden hose and cut off enough to go almost all the way around your container. Next cut a slit all the way down the tube you cut to length. Put in a new bag and then slip the tube over the rim of the can and new bag. DA, DA. A bag retainer.
They also make some bunjie type cords (sorta like a really big rubber band) that will go around the top of the can. I tie a bit of string to the band, so I can grab it easier.
You can also tie a small knot in the edge of the bag then stretch it over the top of the can. Quick, clean, and easy, with no extra parts.
Regular cheapo bungee cords will also work, just get the right length. Watch the hookup tho or you could end up singing soprano. -Not from personal experience, but I saw it happen
First I need my VP racing barrel then I worry about tying bags down. Actually need two of those 40 Gallon drums, one for garbage and one for beer cans, plywood top with hole for cans so no mixups!
Or just use a couple of old cotton socks. Everytime I replace a bag I fold the sock in half and tuck it under the edge of the trash bag, on both handle sides, then I pull the can handles up and it locks into place. The sock adds just the right amount of tension to keep the bag from dropping everytime I throw something in it.
