Pictures of Coils? 3/4 ton or 1/2 ton

Can anyone e-mail me a picture of what the bottom pirch for a 3/4 ton should look like? Im trying to figure out if I have 3/4 ton axles with 1/2 ton spring and I dont have a clue what Im looking at. I looked at a friend who has an 84 1/2 ton and it looks nothing like mine. Is there a web site that might have pictures?
It a dana or spicer Im not sure of that either. Yes, Im in the learning process...

Thanks

Do you have a 4x4 or 4x2. I assume its the truck in your sig. In which case its a half ton truck. Ford basically used the same components for F250 (3/4 ton) and F350 (1 Ton) trucks. The F100/F150 (1/2 Ton) trucks have a weaker setup.

Looking at the picture in your gallery you have 1/2 ton front axle with 3/4 ton brakes added to match the 3/4 ton rear axle. Both 1/2 and 3/4 tons use Dana 44 front axle. 1/2 ton uses coil springs/radius arms like you have. 3/4 ton have leaf springs. 80-later use twin traction beam axles instead of the solid axle.

Seabeetough ~ Fantastic yellow truck; exactly what I want mine painted to next year!!

I'm going to have to back out of this one, neighbor (thanks for posting the pix) - you've got a 4 wheel drive and that is nothing like my 2WD. I'm sure one of the other elder users will / can / would / should help you out.

Best of luck....

that looks like it is a dana 44 standard 1/2 ton setup. it definetly looks like you need some new spring perches. i had a couple 79 1/2 tons that when i put the lift on it the springs bowed a little bit. judging by the rust on those perches i would say the springs are probably very weak also and would need changing. the 3/4 ton trucks used a dana 60 setup with leaf springs ( no coil springs ). hope this helps you out

To get inches you will have to purchace longer coils. To get an inch you could use spacers, but your coils are old anyway. If you purchase standard coils for your rig equiped w/ a 460 with A/C, My guess is you will gain about one inch.
