Where do you see it in the manual (Parts CD)? I think they are longer than 1.25", I have one apart and will measure. I think the 12-32 is right, unfortunately. You might check with The Ford Bolt Man, Roy Nacewicz Enterprises Ltd - Ford Bolts

I just finished pulling the flathead out of the '50 F6 so I now have eight of them.
But Mark, if the whole hub assembly is good, they are no longer made either, so they are scarce.
The bearing fan spindle gave out on mine last summer and NOBODY had that part anywhere. I finally found a used assembly from a local guy that I had to take apart and rebuild. I saw a couple of used one's later that sold on eBay for close to $100 each.

Is the assembly the same on the sixers and on the V8's?
Fan (fan blade to fan hub) - No. 12-32 x 1 1/16" Part # 355249-S (BB283)

Unless someone comes up with one, I'd see if you can use a 1/4-28. It's barely larger but enough you could probably re-tap the horseshoe retainer. There are threads on multiple sites going back 10 years by people looking for them, no one had any luck. Some old rifles used them in 1"-long for scope mounts, but they go for $18 - $20 EACH....

Thanks Ross, That is probably the route I will be taking.
