bailey channel
This evening I tried putting in fresh bailey channels, I got them from a buddy at an autoglass shop and he was there to give me a hand fitting them but we were unhappy with the way it sits in the corners and in some parts the rubber will fall through the channel with very little pressure. is there a special way to fit these? can they be glued? if so how? as theres not too much to glue too. here is the profile and a sample of a corner which is a bad example as the rear corner is badly creased and twisted.
any pointers at all are muchly appreciated

Many years ago, I bought some "universal" channel [correct dimensions] and it acted like what your photo shows.
In recent years, I have purchased the weather stripping made and marketed for our trucks. Not only does it fit the channel, but is preformed for the curved areas.
If yours is of the latter type [most likely is], then see if it fits on the rear of the door [near the door handle]. There is a recessed area in the rubber which is supposed to fit near the outer anti-rattle strip [sometimes called belt-line weather strip]. If that area does not line up, then the pre-shaped curved area will be out of position. This can happen because there is so much "extra" of the channels which fits inside the door [for the glass to slide in].
