The PO replaced the F3 front axle with a 5 lug 15 inch setup. So I ordered the CPP front disc brake kit. The bearing adapters are 1.3 inside diameter for the rear of the spindle. Mine are 1.18 so they do not fit. Every thing else fits perfectly. Does anyone have an idea what spindles I have since CPP says the 1.3 is correct?
It appears when the PO swapped the F3 wheels out he put in a 37-48 set of spindles (and axle?). Cani buy 48-52 spindles and mount to axle with same king pins and tie rods?
Mystery solved. I talked to Bob Selzman of Half Ton Funin NJ. he compared part numbers on my spindle and wheel bearings. It appears at some time wheel bearings went out on the truck. The PO had the spindles ground down from 1.30 to 1.18 so he could use the earlier Ford wheel bearings, etc. I was lucky because Bob had both spindles so all I have to do is install them on the axle with new king pins...
