My auto dimming rear view mirror doesn't work for squat. I've found simple replacements but didn't know if others have found for replacing, working around, upgrading, etc. Thoughts?
This may sounds crazy but i installed a backup camera and the monitor was a pyle brand one that installs over your existing mirror. As far as I can tell it's just tinted. It doesn't have a switch to flip. Anyway it has been working just fine for me for a few years now. My auto dimming one is still behind it. Don't miss it.

The one in my 5.4 is already having issues or I would gladly swap with you free of charge. However when mine went out I did the same thing as you and wanted to stay OEM and ended up just dealing with my "broken" one. I wanted to put cash into other things and mine wasn't bad enough to warrant replacing yet.
Chad, an Expedition mirror will work or you could be like Mike (and I) we went OEM $179.00 IIRC
Hey mecdac!
Thanks. I'll check into that. Appreciate the help.

I agree. It's something I may change in the future but would rather put money into other stuff. Although, I may be headed to a pic-a-part yard this weekend. If so, I may swipe one out of another truck while I'm thier. I think they're like $10-15.
