Cool me off

First let me start off by saying.. I have learned alot on this site about my 2wd 93 Ranger Supercab 3.0....

It's running hot... I had Rad rodded, new water pump and hoses

Also new thermostat...

what it does it runs hot then needle comes down to about half way point?... does not matter if im stopped or running...

Thermostat sticking?.. one fella told me truck should have a 160 degree thermostat and he belives mine is a 190 degree that could cause this problem....but im not sure if thats ttrue?.....

Could gauge of temp sensor be bad?... this truck was sitting for over a year and has 158k on it... Head gaskets?!!

also i think i might be losing compression.... when going up a hill and carrying my ZX-12r on back it seems to loose power....Profanity Removed...

what can i do to get this truck running good... I want to haul my bike to Vermont come the 7th of August...

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR PROMPT AND COURTEOUS

Cool me off

I'm pretty sure the correct thermostat is a 190 or 195. 160's are too cold. It sounds like you might have some air still stuck in the cooling system. I'd be more concerned about the power though. Get a compression tester and see what you've got.

Cool me off

You can get a compression checker for about 40 bucks at the parts place.

Cool me off

I know a fellow (Gerald Fowler) over in Fuquay (off of Bells Lake road). He does all of the non-warranty work on my vehicles.

He does real good work and his prices are fair.

Whatever I take to him, I know that when I get it back it will be right!

email me for his phone number and address....
