Long-winded Newbie Hello

Hello everyone,
I'm from the UK, currently enjoying running around in my mate's Ex-USAF F350.
Been lurking on this site for some time, trying to learn stuff, decided to register at last so I can ask questions!

Last year I was wiped out on my bike by a moron who doesn't check the road is clear before pulling out, still recovering and in constant pain 5 months later. As a result I've promised the wife to stop riding bikes full-time and will move to 4 wheels, at least through the darker months.
So, if I'm going to be stuck in traffic jams from now on, I want to be in something that I enjoy being in, so enter my childhood dream of a Chevy Stepside.

I know, I know, calm down, bear with me...

So after searching and coming close with a truck complete with Skyjacker lift in Nashville, I gave up as I couldn't find what I wanted.
Then, I had what I guess you could say was an epiphany. Searching for trucks on the internet, the clouds parted, the Angels sang and glorious light shone down;

God may ride a Harley, but in the winter he sits in his F250 Harley Edition.
I text Ben, my mate that actually owns the F350 burbling here, that my life will be incomplete until I've had my Harley sat in the loadbed of my F250.

My truck search and knowledge has then grown through various phases, which to avoid you having to read too many words, and because people like pictures, can be seen like this:

And ultimately, this is where I want to end up.

When I find the right one, I'll come back over to the US, visit some friends and buy my truck to ship back to the UK.

In the meantime, my thanks in advance for your patience with all the daft questions I'll ask and for the help and info which you'll no doubt share with me.

Cheers.

... and if one of the Mods could let me know why they've moved this into the 'Diesel discussion' section rather than the new member intros, I'd be grateful.

Not managed to be moderated with a first 'hello' post before, must be a record...
