01 Mercury Mountaineer
Right now I have installed a k&n filter in the stock air box, you can't really notice the horsepower difference that much but it does have a little more pep than before (just a little). It does breathe better thought I can hear it when the engine revs high, it doesn't sound stressed at all.
Anyways I want alos add a supercharger, hence the reason for lowering, it does handle very well I can take corners very well on windy roads I can sometimes take the curves going 75-80 mph. Thats better than the 98 explorer sport I had (same corners at around 65mph). I really like the mountaineer very well put together, and the all wheel drive is great, especially for rain, because you can drive with 4x4 on pavement without ruining the 4 wheel drive. Major improvements versus the explorer.
Just wanted to add that I'm new here and I think this is awsome, finally there is a place with people that share the love I have for Ford. I've had a 93 explorer sport and a 98 explorer sport, great cars, the 93 is still running at 147,000+ miles had some engine and clutch work (it was standard). Anyways I'm hoping to keep a decent look on my mountaineer and hook it up at the same time. I'll add some pics, I've done a lot to the stereo so if you guys have questions about that I've been through it all. Later Cliffdogg
