powersteering problems

So my buddies 7.3 has problems with what I'm guessing is his steering box he has power turning right but no power when turning left, Im guessing the box is shot, but I want to make sure the hydroboost can't mess with the steering (I have the older vacuum pump and this is a new system for me) is it possible this is a symptom from the hydroboost system Or is the box just shot?

sounds more like steering gearbox,Have you ruled out mechanical binding,such as steering stabilizer ect.

Check the 3 bolts that hold the gearbox to the frame. It any are loose, it'll cause a bind in left turns. Don't ask me how I know that, I won't admit to it.
