I pretty sure it is 7/16 x 14. If nobody else chimes in I can look tomorrow when I go to the shop, then I can tell you length and all.

I have four bolts in my alternator bag right now. (My engine is apart) Three are 3/8"-16 x 3/4" with a 9/16" bolt head. One is 7/16"-14 x 5/8" with a 5/8" bolt head. I believe the 7/16"-14 bolt is the adjuster bolt.

It should be the same size and pitch as the timing cover bolts, only longer to allow for the bracket.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but I had to haul the tractor to the shop and push snow to get up to the shop.

I have a '69 F100 with a 240.

The large alternator pivot bolt in the upper bracket is 7/16"-14 x 4-1/4" long.

The bolt in the alternator, in the slotted portion of the lower bracket, is 3/8"-16 x 1.00".

The bolt at the inner end of the lower bracket, that attaches the lower (slotted) bracket to the front cover, is 5/16"-18. I'm not certain of its length because mine is bolted up. However, putting a tape on the outside and eyeballing it, it appears to be about 2.00" long, --give or take.

Okay, so we have the same bolts save for the lengths. My lengths are only measured on the threaded portions. How are you measuring length?

Sorry not getting back on quicker, I was admitted to the Hospital last night.
I got a feeling it's a model issue, what I measured was on the motor in my 70 which started life as a injected motor. I get out of here I will measure the on on my 92 and see what it measures.

Here is what my 300 (mid 70's) has holding the lower adjuster arm to the front of the engine
It is a 5/8 size head with 7/16" -14 NC coarse thread.
