For a homemade hitch it was built well. The thread pattern for the ball is a real odd thread compared to most though. Very course thread.

Good morning Mike!

That was the problem Mike. The truck didn't come with the ball and the dealer didn't have it and I couldn't find one with the correct thread. So I am just going with the rail kit and putting my fifth wheel hitch in there out of my old truck. I bought the gooseneck adapter that drops into the rails so now I have both the fifth wheel hitch and the regular ball for a gooseneck. Going with a B&W and then having to get a companion hitch would have been way expensive!

The thread in must work fine down south where you don't have to deal with salt and rust.

Exactly and if it was removed all the time when not in use and kept a little grease in the threads it would probably be fine up here as well but what a pain in the ****!
