Well I currently have a 2004 Super Duty Turbo Diesel with the old dreaded 6 liter. Trust me I heard if from everyone when I got it, but you know what it has been just fine for me, other then being damn cold blooded lol This Friday, if the guy does not flake, which I think he will not. I will be getting a 1978 F250 4x4, with a 6" lift and 37" swampers, it has the 460 in it. And I thought the 2004 was beast lol. Is having two trucks silly?
I am a total car nut, dad build dune buggies when I was growing up and I have owned various cars over the years doing my own work mostly. I saw most of Oregon as a kid in a 1974, I think, purple Ford truck with a caveman camper on the back. Maybe I can get dad to get me a copy of a picture of it to scan in, so I can post it. I loved that truck lol
I will admit before the 04 I was a chevy girl lol But really I love all trucks. Always been a truck girl. So now to the point. I really want, I guess it is called a moonvisor, for the cab of the 78, the old school style would be great, but darned if I can find one I like. I will put up one of the pics the guy sent of the 78, when I find the darn files lol
Well it is now in front of the house and the guy across the street happens to know the fellow that owned it before the guy I got it from. Apparently it has had a bigger cam added to it and maybe a few other mods. He went over it for me today, aside from a leaky valve cover and oil pan, he said it looks good. Only other issue is there are two places on the floorboards that are rusted through. But that is common for Oregon, with all this damn rain lol. Not a hard fix either. I will take pics of it this weekend, maybe it covered with mud, if I find some to play in lol
I may get back to my own V8 Ranger build this year. I got myself a welding rig just to play with the sweet sounds that will one day come out of its pipes...
Welcome to !! Nothing wrong with truck girls.. I'm married to one for 30 years so far! But I'm pretty sure I'm not taking my truck through mud any time soon.. LOL!!
Okay I got some pics of it uploaded if anyone is interested. Spent all weekend driving it, but I did not got mudding. Seems I need to get a longer drive shaft before I do any hard core dirt ripping.
Nope I got something better. An FN FAL 308 goodness! Actually you can pump your own diesel here. Not sure why they did that, but hey I got a diesel truck so it's all good lol
