01 F250 ABS/Speedo

Hi all, I have tried searching this but I wanted to get some thoughts on my issue. I have an 01 F250 5.4 5 speed 4x4. My speedometer is not working, and my ABS light is on. I attempted to check codes with a snap on MODIS but it gives me a no communication error with my ABS module(its 4wheel abs). I was able to communicate with the ecm, it has a code for no speedo signal but is not tripping a CEL. I then replaced the VSS and it did not fix the issue. I pulled the abs module wiring connector today and checked the ground, battery + and ignition + and all were good. I also disconnected the rear abs sensor, shorted it with a small wire and checked continuity at the abs connector and it was less than an ohm of resistance. If I disconnect the battery and leave it off for a while to reset, the ABS light still immediately comes on and stays on with koeo. Im at a bit of a loss for ideas besides the ABS module being bad or a bad connection between the connector and module... any thoughts are appreciated!!

Check your wiring harness going to the VSS.

Thanks for the reply, I had already checked the VSS wiring by disconnecting the sensor and running a small wire between the pins. I then checked resistance at the ABS module connector between the two wires and it was less than an ohm of resistance. I ended up finding the problem though, I pulled the ABS module off the pump assembly and found a rather large crack in the plastic and the unit is full of water/mud. Will be going to the salvage yard today and will hopefully be back in business tonight!
