Ok all ya bbf fans I'm looking for input on a build. My gasaholic finally decided she had enough at 298,000 +. I can now hear a lower end knock knock. With that being said it's time for a good build up. I'll start off with what I'm working with. 97 f250 hd over 8500lbs . Already have long tube headers and dual 2.5 exhaust. BBK throttle body and adjustable pressure regulator. Air horn restictors removed, msd coil dui wires with heat sleeves and best cooper plugs available set around .54. Just put in about 3 weeks ago. Comp cams custom grind efi .503/.524 cam and lifters about 1 year ago. So now that that's out there what kind of suggestions do you all have. Not sure on which series head is on it haven't looked at them yet. I do pull alot of weight from time to time and it is a daily driver. I would like a tad more compression as well. Oh yeah 3:73 rear gears with ls posi 2 wheel drive. Thanks in advance for advice and direction.
If I was replacing the bottom end I would put in a stroker kit, especially since you're pulling a lot of weight. No need to go wild, they're available from like 502 cid and up. The longer throw on the crank will be good for pulling.
I know it may sound stupid to some, considering I build mostly carb'd systems and diesel power plants. Will going to the 502 stroker have a negative impact on the speed density system. Possibly change of injectors needed or a programming of the system? Like I said I normally don't mess around with injected gas engines so it's slightly new too me. I bought 5he truck new and it's never given me any problems till now.
