Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The thing is a beast, and to the right guy is worth having. The KMM5-4 model is a Snogo, either WWII or post war era. There would have originally been a huge blower on the front and a second engine on the bed to operate the blower. Gearing is very low which makes them not well suited for normal roads, but obviously ideal for off road wilderness travel. Snogos show up on Craig's List and eBay pretty regularly. Their rarity commonly makes sellers think they are worth a lot, but they stay for sale a long long time. Even at modest amounts like a couple thousand or less. Yours has a military nose grafted on and a GM pickup bed. Somebody in AK will want to use it same as your brother. Stu

Thank you that is more than I have found about it online so far. Any idea how I could find the year and engine size, it is a V8 Flat Head is all I know about it, oh yah it works.

The model year I'm no help on. It might be possible for one of the other guys to date it based on the VIN, which should be found on one of the frame rails in the engine bay. On the 48-50 models there's a record kept to help guys sort out model year, but I don't recall seeing one for the 47 and earlier trucks.

The engine is an 8BA/8RT looking 239 flathead that I doubt is original to the truck. Probably a later model engine. Stu

I have been reading on that, I will have to look closer but the distributor is vertical on the 8BA/8RT and this is horizontal. I will have to look if the bell housing is cast on the block or not, the" 59A castings" engine was cast and the 8BA & 8RT were bolt on bell housings. I wonder if the "21 bolt" heads will fit on the "21 stud" engine?
