does the c6 for the 6.9 have the same bell housing pattern as 460 gas engine

c6 for 6.9

No, diesels use 1/2 inch bolts for mounting to the motor, 460 uses 7/16 bolts. Alignment dowels are different also.

c6 for 6.9

Yes the trans is the same. There is a adapter bolted to the diesel engine, the 460 trans bolts to the adapter. Search the forums this has been covered several times. There were pictures of the adapter posted not to long ago.
