JUST ordered a 2015 limited 4x2 expedition 3.73 gears does this model have the CCD? I could not get air suspension because this makes u order the package with sunroof I did not want sunroof.,is it part of the air suspension,if it is FORD has done a poor job of packageing as u can order a xlt with air susp and no sunroof but on limited u can only get air susp with sunroof package just want to know if I have CCD the way I ordered it thanks
no did not get the 22" wheels definitely didn't want them r sunroof but would have liked the air suspension also xlt can come with air susp with out 22s. so CCD is only available with 22s?
Many will choose the 22" wheel option, clearly the industry trend. Somewhat poorer ride quality (which CCD will presumably resolve) but crisper handling and modern appearance.
Curious why you opted for 3.73 gears. I had them on my 2005 Eddie Bauer Expedition (which worked perfectly with the 4 speed) but couldn't imagine them on my 2013 with 6 speed trans. Even with the standard 3.31 gears, 1st gear is ...way.... low.
3.15s r standard on 2 wheel drive 3.31 on 4 wheel drive because I want it to pull hard off the line and buddy has a 15 Yukon with 6.2 I want to beat him, and really don't find theres any penalty on gas to matter much, I like power lol
Many EB owners on the F150 side report there's a ..significant.. and more than expected difference in fuel economy with the 3.73. The biggest issue I've found with 3.73 gears used in conjunction with the current 6-speed transmission is that with the transmission's super low 4.17 first gear the 1-2 shift occurs too quickly in normal driving and first gear is barely used. My 2013 is much smoother manually starting out in 2nd gear and seems to have about the same acceleration in normal driving.
I just ordered a 2015 King Ranch with the optional 3.73. The 3.73 is the base axle on the Navigator so it can't be too bad. While I understand there might be a fuel economy penalty, the 3.73 should allow you to get to 6th gear sooner around town and on the highway allow the engine to run less boost which may lessen the loss.
I have always been baffled by the stand alone options vs the packages. If I were ordering a new Expedition (which I am not any time soon) I too would want a higher end model like a KR or Platinum.
The CCD sounds good (although I have never driven a vehicle with it), but like the OP would not want the sunroof or 22" wheels. My top of the line Platinum Super Duty has neither.
Why can't the auto manufacturers let us order exactly what we want and nothing more? One often cannot get the color interior they want with the exterior color they want.
I can't imagine they would have to shut down the assembly line for a "custom model". I can imagine they can maximize profits by selling unwanted features along with desirable features for which they think people will pay. This process seems to be longstanding across most brands, domestic and foreign.
What are the software and hardware components used for the CCD? Would it be possible to add them to a 2015 Platinum EL that currently as 20" wheels? We just bought a pre-owned that has every other option we wanted at a great price but wondering if I could add the CCD.
