New here so I may start off a little lame... my apologies.
My truck is ‘occasionally’ stalling when I let off the accelerator or when I stop at a traffic light. The problem is intermittent and unpredictable. It has started right up afterwards except for this morning when twice it took a bit of cranking to get it going. It runs strong and smooth as long as I don’t let off the accelerator.
I recently replaced the fuel bowl and the fuel pump as they were leaking and thought that would take care of the issue as well… it did not.
I have an OBDII but did not see a connection for it… and could not find a thing on the net about it or the location… I looked under the hood and under the dash.
It's really hard to diagnose something like this without live data or codes. And even then it can be difficult. I did however have a similar issue recently with mine. I replaced both my icp sensor and rebuilt the ipr. I don't know which was the culprit because I did both at the same time. Does the connector for the icp have oil in it? You can also check the tin nut on the ipr. Make sure it isn't loose or fallen off.
OK... this is great! But I have some learning to do. I can do anything with my old Mercedes diesels but have never had to do work on my f350 until now (i've owned it for ten years).
I do not know what the icp or irp are where they are or what they look like... ditto on the cps 'cam position sensor' but yes, the tach moved... kinda jumped. Also, it 'seems' to do it only after it is warmed up. My apologies for being an idiot.
I'll go check the OBD now and be back in a few... Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: The OBD doesn't do anything... nothing, no LCD, no response whatsoever, I used it a couple of months ago on my daughters Escape and it worked fine.
Anything else I should try??? Thanks for your patience.
This will help you find them. Icp(injection control pressure sensor) is at the front of the driver side head and ipr(injector pressure regulator) is below it kind of under the hpop(high pressure oil pump)
The ipr has a tin nut holding a spacer and a selenium onto it. Make sure it's all there and check inside the icp connector for oil.

1) If it only does this when warm, it might be time for IPR O-rings.
2) You probably aren't an idiot, you're smart enough to own an OBS PSD and join FTE, the best forum out there. You are ignorant though because the truck has been so dang reliable for you, but we will help clear that up. LOL. (I'm joking btw.)
3) Is it possible your cigarette lighter fuse is blown? If so, the OBDII connector won't have power either.
I'd try a new cps first. They are cheap enough, a common problem, and its a good idea to have a spare anyway.

Check the cigarette lighter fuse, I believe the OBD port shares that fuse. sounds weird but my '01 did the same thing to me.
Threw the cig lighter away... replaced fuse.
OBD worked... but, no errors.
CPS sounded/felt/seemed like a good place to start (cheap too, 27.50)
Quick check on YouTube.... found brief video on replacing
Went to NAPA picked up the Cam Position Sensor.
Installed... 20 Minutes.
All systems GO!!!!!!!!!
Einstien said... if i had 1 hour to find the answer to a great problem I would spend the first 55 minutes defining the question... me ...i'll, just come here!
Good to hear. If I were you I would buy a oem Ford or ih cps and throw it in your glove box. The auto parts store ones are hit and miss and don't seem to last long
