I thought about some really thin ones before, but it seemed too "iffy". You are putting more torque on the studs by running the weight of the tire and wheel further out. I can't really see that being a good thing but I'm sure people get by with it. I think most people will just say, you'd be better off buying some wheels with the proper backspacing to kick the tires out. Doesn't sound too safe (to me) to run a 2" spacer on some 33's on a heavy truck.. Others can chime in I'm sure.

Which wheels would you recommend? I was looking into Ion Alloy 171 Polished wheels.
I haven't paid attention to wheels in quite some time, so I couldn't really recommend much. A decent steel wheel is a good choice for lower cost and strength, but yeah aluminum is pretty nice just more money.
Any good tire/wheel company will know what you need as far as offset. You can do some research on line to find out also what combos work. Just takes a little time on the wonderful thing called the "internet" that Al Gore invented.
