I would do a little more research there are a lot more choices, I don't want to start a brand or App war. I have Dash Command on the Android phone but didn't have luck using it. And now use Torque Pro for $5 with a $20 bluetooth adapter. I don't loose any of my Sync features. Any can use it on any vehicle at no cost.

Not really an answer to the question. Unless you want to send me a free android device I'm not saving money no matter what app I chose.

Last night I downloaded the Engine link App for iPhone. It is supposed to be the ios version of Torque pro. I set up all for EGT sensors on this app and they all work. Don't really like the display but at least I have the readings.

Sorry I wasn’t trying to be a smart a$$, I have used an Iphone with engine link and the wifi $20 adapter, but not with Dash Command. I used Dash Command and Torque Pro with a Bluetooth adapter on a $30 tablet. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

I personally don’t like the Dash Command App but I see there are updates. When I started using an OBD2 Apps there were no Ford Specific PIDs for the 6.7L so I made them by myself and most of them are used with the other apps. <o

I don’t think you need to spend $120 on an adapter but in any case. I have used an Iphone 6 connected to the Sync on my truck with a Bluetooth adapter in my OBD port without problems. When you use an Iphone it sees the OBD adapter and Iphone as two different devices.

There is a lot of Pro to an Apple device and playing nice with after market Bluetooth hardware is not one of them in my view. This is one reason this App came out in an Android first. For way less then $120 you can buy an android device, OBD2 adapter and the App that will do more then an Edge Insight and use your Iphone as a phone.

It is my understanding that some apps and monitors you have to pay for specific manufacturer’s PIDs and that is if they have them available? I find or make my own for fun, one reason some Apps work for the 6.7L is like folks like me and the reason why some Apps are $5 and some monitors are hundreds. Don’t think that they don’t search these forums to find them to make money.

So in short I have saved you money and answered your question. I don’t know personally the developer of any App but I started using Torque Pro and leave it up to the consumer on which App is best.<o

Sure. For $25-30 I'll use my phone, but before I would spend $200 for something that still needed my phone and had to be connected, mounted, etc, each time I got in the truck, I'd spend $350-400 and have a dedicated device. Everybody has their price, right?

True, thanks for the info. The main reason I ask is I exclusively listen to podcasts and occasionally music through the sync Bluetooth audio. And my iPhone 6 Plus, which is always on me, is big enough to display the handful of items in interested in. And the wifi adapters are screwy because they screw up the device's ability to access the Internet because it tries to use the wifi rather than cellar data. Bye bye Pandora and anything else. Im not interested in having a tablet permanently mounted in my truck. Just hoping there's something simpler.
