I am trying to determine if all of the f100/f150 trucks of this generation had v-belts or did some have serpentine. I am hunting for a power steering pump and bracket for my bump-side with a 240/300 and I think trucks from this generation would be good candidates, provided they did not have the serpentine belt.

 

Mine doesn't have a serpentine. separate v belts for power steering, alternator, and fan.

 

Double belts for the alternator/fan. Single belt to the power steering pump, on my '78.

 

I am guessing the serpentine belts were not introduced until late in the bullnose era.

 

I believe serpentine belts came when fuel injection was introduced.

 

You can easily remove a serp pulley and put one on with a v-groove. Just have to make sure shaft od's are the same.
