Question 4" lift

I have a 1976 F250 4x4 with the hydraulic front steering, has anyone ever lifted one before, I have the skyjacker lift but I'm not sure if I have to replace the pitman arm, I have asked all the local shops and no one can answer my question
Thanks

4" lift

hydralic steering as there is a hydralic ram that pushes the wheels back and forth. like the rams found on a backhoe or excavator?
or is it power steering, which uses a box that has a pitarm that comes off of it to move the wheels. ?
if it is the second the a drop pit arm which can be easily found can be used it will help with bumpsteer and such problems
if it the the first then you have some crazy stuff that you are going to have to home fab something for. but if it is sounds like all you need would be longer hydralic lines to the ram. lots of rockcrawlers have them might want to look that direction
hope that makes sense

4" lift

Because the drag link is so short between the pitman arm on the box, and the steering arm on the axle you will probably experience some bumpsteer if you don't level it back out. This can be dealt with by putting a raised steering arm or lift block on the axle. By doing that you have corrected (or at least improved) the geometry without changing the leverage, whereas if you put a longer pitman arm on the steering box you will decrease the leverage that your steering box has.

Can you get away with no correction? Probably. My suggestion would be to build the truck. Look at it, then decide. Its easy to add a lift block under the steering arm, or raised steering arm if you decide the angles are too severe.
