4X4 Question
I have a question. I took my 2000 F150 4X4 into the dealer todady to have the 30,000 mile service performed and they are saying that the front and rear differentials do NOT require a fluid change at this time. The service writer said that since the factory uses synthetic gear oil in both diffs, I don't need to worry about changing it for a long time to come. Is this true? Does anyone know what the ford recommended change interval is?
Also, does anyone know how many quarts of oil the engine takes? The dealer is telling me it takes 7. It is the 5.4L V8.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Todd
As far as oil goes. 6.5 qts will put it to the full mark. There was a thread on this awhile back and everybody's truck took 6.5 to reach the full mark.
