I'm working on a 2006 F-350 4x4 CC DRW. I disassembled the rear brakes to replace the worn parking brakes & cables... I have now replaced shocks, parking brakes, rotors, callipers, brake pads, hoses etc. I am now left with these two bracket/plates that mount somewhere on the rear axle. Does anyone know where these mount to ? I can't for the life of me remember how or exactly where they go. Appreciate any help on this.
"Plumberbytrade", mechanic by choice.....LOL Sorry I just couldn't resist.
I did a Google Search for "schematic 2006 Ford F350 rear brakes" and got a number of search hits with photos. You may give that a try, maybe it will help.
My other suggestion would be to do a search on YouTube for replacing rear brakes 2006 Ford Superduty, that may give you what you are looking for.
Sorry, but I don't have any first hand knowledge I can share or help you with other than the leads I shared.

Hi jonrjen - thank you very much for your suggestions however, I have exhausted both of those avenues. I can't find a single pic with these brackets on any truck.
I'm starting to wonder if they weren't custom made as there is no part # on either piece.
Here is another pic. Do any of you guys have a pic of your rear axle from underneath the truck looking from the pinion side of the differential ? I can't find a pic of these anywhere...
Thanks
Do you remember taking shields like that off? I think they are shields that go on the back of the brake caliper. If you didn't take anything like that off, perhaps they aren't suppose to be on the truck you're working on.

Hey John. Yes I definitely did remove the shields, it was some time ago but I grinded them & painted with the rest of the brake components. At the time I was removing them it seemed very obvious where they would go so I didn't give it a second thought. Now that I'm re-assembling it doesn't seem quite so obvious & i'm scratching my head. They are also slightly damaged on either the front or bottom edge so I expect they were doing their job correctly at some point.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Update - I might be getting somewhere. I found an On-line store called Truck Hardware.
They have what are called "brake caliper guards" So i looked up my 2006 F-350 and came across these guards. They are not exactly the same as the ones I have but are close enough to determine that they are indeed caliber guards. Their site shows how they are mounted also. They were asking $115.00 USD for theirs.
I'm heading to the shop this afternoon so I will try to mount them. Thanks to all who contributed & I will update after the install. Cheers !https://www.truckhardware.ca/images/...jpg?1409020842
They mount on the caliper bracket. They're for calipers mounted in front of the axle, to protect them from road debris. I didn't think they were on 2006 trucks. Is that the original axle?

You are correct on the caliper bracket but my calipers are mounted on the backside of the axle so they actually mount on the caliper bracket behind the axle. I think they would still do a good job protecting from road debris & what not. And yes as far as I can tell the axle is original. I wasn't very accurate with my original thought that they were mounted on the front side of the axle. Thanks for your input & comments.
Ok Thanks everyone, I got them mounted this afternoon. It was an easy job once I knew where they went. You guys Rock !!
Here are a couple pics of them installed. Brake hoses are not connected to the calipers yet because I am replacing them both.
