I don't like chrome on my vehicles at all and you won't find any of the truck when I'm done with it. You see a lot of newer blacked out (murdered out) pick ups out there but not so many old ones. It kind of takes away from the classic look in a way. I want to do a newer look on an older truck. Paint the hi lift my uncle gave me out of his shop before he moved and my west coast mirrors.

Sweet lookin project so far man!! Keep up the good work! You've picked the perfect combo for your dream truck build.

I've heard of guys on here talk about using the 2wd box but i've also heard that they break sometimes. I think thats why guys prefer to use the 78-79 F250 box for the swap. I have no personal experience with the 2wd box, just passing on some info i've read on here. I used the 78-79 F250 box for my 77 highboy steering upgrade, and i used a dodge saginaw on my cummins crew project. Good luck man!

Picked up these west coast 3 point mirrors for about 35 bucks from some guy on cl. My favorite style of mirrors ever made. Decided to sandblast them and paint them matte black. Went over to park rose hardware (WORLD renound fastener department) and picked up all new stainless bolts for the mirrors to accent the all black. Can't wait to put them together!

Yeah hopefully this set up doesnt give me troubles! Alittle more of an explaination of what i was was done to make it work right! i found a pitman arm from a 79 ford 4x4. got it at tonys they arent a reproduced part so i guess they dont consider them a wearable part.. seems kind of odd to me. but anyways i convinced tony to sell me one of the last two he had as he likes to use them himself for these conversions. i had to notch out a couple of the larger "guide" teeth in the pitman arm in order to get it to fit on the steering box correctly. then we took a drag link off of a 70s pick up that was the right length about 14 inches long. that specific drag links were off set (or twisted about 90 degrees from eachother because the setup was different. we heated up the drag link and twisted it back so the two eyes (ends) faced the same way. then let it air cool to not affect the strength of the metal. ill take pictures later on when we get it all in place!

Decided on this for the clear coat on my mirrors and hi lift. Thought if it's tough enough for wheels it's tough enough for mirrors!

This is the coating I'm using for inside the wheel wells. Harbor freight was out of truck bed coating and I thought this would be better any way. Almost the same texture just a little smoother and seems to be tough.

Bought a can of plastic dip to paint the alloys on the jeep. This stuff is going to look sweet on the ford!

Prepping the grills with a little clean and sand before paint. The next step is figuring out the fit of the inner cooler between the radiator and the core support so I'm going to wait on paint on these as they will most likely be notched a bit.

front fenders

i got the front fenders sanded up and painted. as you can see from the picture above the fender had the trim piece curved with the wheel well. i took off the trim and now theres holes there. I'm going to go over to park rose hardware and buy some stainless hardware to match the mirrors in order to fill the holes. hopefully these stainless accents I'm doing will look good

Tomorrow night ill be figuring out the fit of the intercooler between the core support and the grill. the plan is to use an intercooler i have which is off a freight liner truck. ill post pictures tomorrow. also, I'm currently waiting for my radiator with is at Gresham radiator getting the inlet and outlet swapped sides as they are on the wrong sides currently in order to "cleanly" fit up to the motor. tomorrow ill get a picture of the space i have between the fan and the radiator.

Time to write a midterm paper! woooo

Wow your moving right along... Nice job...

I was searching around on the internet and found that radiator new from champion, cant remember where exactly though. But If your not going to be doing a whole lot of towing I would try the one you already have for sure. truck is looking good.

Didn't accomplish much today except replaced the bushings underneath the whole truck that I bought off LMC truck. Those old ones did not want to come off. I'm going to be picking up my radiator from the the shop tomorrow and hopefully Wednesday start fitting the air to air. I need some ideas of how to hook up the 4x4 linkage to the nv4500. As of now it looks like the shortening of the rod is the only decision. Any one have examples of there own??

The 2wd box makes sense if you're not going to a crossover setup.

Progress looks good.

Have heard great things about the selection at Tony's but horror stories on his pricing so never made the trip down.

a couple picture of the hydraulic clutch set up. took the bracket off the dodge that held the petal assemblies and cut off the bracket for the hydralic clutch and bolted it to the firewall. might attached a steel plate behind on the other side of the firewall because it flexes the firewall a little bit when i push the clutch in. hydraulic is going to be a dream compared to the mechanical!
