Currently only 1996/4.9/5 speed/swb/2wd and awhile ago I posted a problem with an OBDII Code P0411. I have since replaced a DPFE on advice of a Ford mechanic. After changing this part I took and drilled the rivets out and found the two intakes of the valve were completely corroded completely closed shut. Thinking this might be it I was WRONG. I have checked the AIR/B & AIR/D solenoid valves with 12vdc to have them open and close as advertised. WARNING, WARNING……the E.V.R. valve will FRY with 12 vdc applied to it, so, it too is brand friggin new. The air pump is putting out and the diversion valve it is connected to works when vacuum is applied also. You know air to the head one way and air to the exhaust the other way. I had also climbed under the truck and even disconnected the small pipe connected near the converter only to have worked my ***** off for two hours using a make shift steering wheel puller while being bit by red ants. This pipe will pump air flow out respectively with the RPM going up and down. Reason I did this was to see if the check valve was clogged, turned out to be another useless tip. I have looked over and over all vacuum line for small cracks, put a golf TEE into each and every line one at a time separately to check for a leak. STEVE83… your link on EGR SENSORS was the best info I have come across thanks and ROBERT AT THE BEACH you guys really have a good understand of this system as for me I am into this project for about 275$ (parts & Code Scanner) as a hobby and I could have dropped it off at the dealers BUT NOW ITS PRIDE, BESIDES I HATE WHEN THE WIFE SAY’S I TOLD YOU SOO… Can someone help….PLEASE?
Help with what, exactly? That post sort of rambles, and I can't pick out what you're asking. What's the current situation/symptom/problem? A nagging wife? Those are expensive to fix...
BTW The EVR is a 12V solenoid, so it shouldn't have burnt out unless you just left it on too long.
