Can the fender be moved slightly by loosening bolts? If so, can someone tell me where they all might be so that I don't miss any?
A few years ago some body work was done on my truck. The fender was pushed back toward the door when the truck hit a small tree. After the repair, I have been bugged by the slight misaligned fender. Then this past weekend I noticed that the door caught on the fender and rubbed it when I opened it. I guess due to the heat. I would like to realign thhe fender, but want to know if it is more work than I am bargaining for prior to starting.
It's a pain, but certainly do-able. There are 2 bolts by the hood hinge, one in front of the lower door hinge, & one under the body just forward of the door. I recommend REMOVING them all (and the one in the back of the wheelwell & the hood prop), swinging the back of the fender out, aligning the DOOR to the body FIRST, and THEN aligning the fender to the door. Having the fender out makes aligning the door MUCH easier.
