Yes they can be done, I've seen a few of them and a 72 chevy done the same way. If you take the Time to shorten the bed right like the one's I've seen They make a sharp looking truck.

I've considered doing this on my bronco plow. for better heat since there's less space to fill and the back can have an outside weight added for better snow traction

I had a 78' that I converted to truck, but just removed the top and had a good metal man to help with the rear cab area. I should've taken pics, but oh well. I liked the interior of mine, so I chose that route. Less down time and no head aches! Either way, It'll be a nice looking rig!! Talk with you guys later....
