Hi every one, I am new to this board and have serched in vane for this subject. Bypassing the coolant running through the throttle body seems like a good idea i.e. lower the intake air temp. But will I see any gains my truck is a 95 F-150 5.8 w/ a Flowmaster 3'' cat back, K&N filter, MSD box,underdrive pulleys, & Flowtech shorty headers.
Not that I have a lack of power. It will tow my 19' boat like a bat out of hell.
But being a car guy I am allways looking for a little more. I dont realy have much money to put into her right now as I am putting an addition on the house, finnishing up my 79 TA & want to start on my 68 GTO next.
I am not a huge Ford fanatic as you can see by my toys. But can say that my Truck has been great.

If your wanting to feel a gain, this is probably not the mod you want to do. But if you have access to a dyno, you might see an increase in HP, but only maybe 1 or 2. If you want a bigger difference, I have heard of guys using a windsheild washer pump and tank, filling it with Ice water and plumbing it to the TB. That makes a make shift intercooler, and I would expect to see a HP gain that you might be able to feel (at least until the ice water melts). Just an Idea.
A lot of guys on a Chebby group I am on have done this bypass. THis is one of those "can't feel a difference, but I think it works" kind of mods. Theoretically it should work. The group has not had any bad experiences such as hard starts in winter etc.
Some people have even put in a valve so they can turn the water on and off at will.
My bypass has been hooked up for about a year now. And even with that cold *** winter we had in NJ i didn't have any problems with it icing up.
Do it. It's cheap,and it could only help things out.
