OK, I think I've narrowed the strange bang from my front end.
I think it's the gap between the leaf-springs.
One piece is held in place by the clasp and the other piece is the "free" leaf-spring.
After any good sized bump, there is heard, and felt, a banging.
It just started 4,000 miles ago and the dealers are stumped as to the origin.
4X4 Off-Road this is not!
Who's got any infrmation or help?
Hey, my 1993 Chevy never did that, even after 110,000 miles.
I'm not even going to get into the leaning of the front cab which makes it look like I've got a flat tire.
ALL the dealers play stupid when I show this to them.
Tell me the truth, does FORD really mean Fix Or Repair Daily?
Every day this stuff goes on, my "Buyer's Remorse" grows more and more.
Maybe I'll be back to being a Chevy driver sooner than I thought...man I'd hate to think that, but $36,000 will make any person swallow their pride and buy what does him/her good.
Thanks fellas.
Sorry to hear your situation. I don't think its your springs unless you have loose bolts etc. They do make kits to stop sqeaking but never heard of banging. Except ball joints, track rod assembly loose or broke. Broken track rod bracket. Shocks bad, shock bushings bad. loose parts etc. I have a 99 and no noises after 80,000 miles on pot holed dirt roads. Look your truck over very carefully and i'm sure you'll find the problem. Or call your favorite mechanic friend..
