ok, i have a 91 Bronco 302, putting a 302 HO motor but changing to the original bronco stuff (intake, sensors etc.) My question is this...Do i use the flexplate from the HO or put my original (91 Bronco) back on. Is there a difference? I have the E4OD Tranny.
Thanks....
Umm, well,... if it were me, I'd compare them. BUT, I think that you should use the original as it for sure will fit the TC, and should work with the starter...
If you measure the diameter, etc of the crankshaft flange, bolt spacing, etc. you will find out if the crank protrudes the same from the block as the original, etc. Measure it, in other words. tom
I just remembered that you may HAVE to use the 302 ho flexplatel. Some engines have external balance weights and the engine will try to jump out of the truck above idle if you use the wrong one... but you'll know real soon... tom
Hey guys. You need to use the flexplate from the 302 HO. The harmonic balancer and the flex-plate/flywheel are balanced to the same weight, meaning they both weigh the same. You could use the old HB, but I wouldn't chance it being on an HO. No sense in having any unwanted parts flying up through the floor of the cab!!
Talk with you guys later....
