The additive won't work instantly. It takes a little time. Is there a chance the fuel gelled at one point. If so I would suggest running it through and getting some new fuel
Well I put basically the whole bottle in the fuel filter, not in the tank. The fuel would have had to gel overnight. I filled it that previous night at around 9-10ish, drove it home 20 miles, and then got up and drove it at around 10 the next morning. I hadn't got a mile down the road before it died.
So as of now the truck runs just idle real rough what about if you give it throttle is it still rough how long did you have it running after filter was off
I've seen lift pumps get holes in the diaphragm and air gets to the injector pump you could test it take the feed line off the injector pump and stick the end in a glass jar that's half full of fuel turn the engine over if you see air bubbles coming out that is a problem
Okay i'll try that. I'm not sure what you mean, I didn't have the truck running at all while the filter was off. I ran it for a minute or two after I got the new filter on and bled it.

Thanks again
Sorry I meant how long was it running after you changed the filter sometimes it could take a while to get all the air out of the system
Ouch! Do you have a magnetic drain plug? Send your oil sample in to be tested, they could probably tell you where the metal came from without tearing down the block.
^^^^. I like his way of thinking. You will want to get a donor truck. There is quite the mess of wiring in these things and buying piece by piece would get spendy. Aside from that it is doable. Personally if it was me I would look into the dt but probably just drop in another known good idi.

I do. And yea I sent it in, I'm not sure when they'll get back to me...
