I have a 1988 F250 and they inside door panels are coming off. The little stud/rivet things just dont hold them in place. They rattle and drive me crazy!!!! Anyone else who has had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
I dunno, mine dont hold on quite as well after i took 'em off to install aftermarket speakers, i was thinkin about sinking some plain 'ol screws in 'em, rather than the plastic clips again....but im in the hills alot, so the truck gets beat on, and i think that would hold it together better.
yeah, screws work perfectly fine, unless you are trying to keep everything real nice looking ya know. i just stuck some metal screws in the door panels in my 79 for the same reason, plastic bushings werent holding and were getting on my nerves..havent heard a peep out of them since. also, try putting a little duct tape on the outer edge of the door panel, where it touces the metyal of your door....that helped alot.

Well, the plastic push pins are designed to only be used once, once you pull them out they lose their strength and should be replaced, thats probably why you are having such a problem with them.

Thanks guys. So did you drill pilot holes for the screw? And you screwed right into the metal behind the panel? Where are the screws located on the panel? how many screws did you use?
