I just bought a 1988 F150, 5.0SEFI/C6. I was told it has a roller cammed engine....thats cool......I have a 94 full roller 5.0 (removed from a Mustang GT convertible) that I converted to a carb setup in my 63 Mercury. It has coated Hooker super comp headers, Wieand intake, 600 holley, home ported heads, 1.7 roller rockers, MSD ignition and etc. It made 207HP/286.5ftlbs at the wheels on the dyno with the 94 stang factory cam still in it.
I was thinking of a trickflow cam swap for the 63 and thought maybe I could put the 1994 mustang cam in my truck as the 5.0 from the stang was 215HP from the factory. How does the SEFI take to upgrades? How many HP did the 5.0 in my F150 come with from the factory in 88? The old thing pulls pretty good now, but more HP is always better........Any suggestions are welcome, this truck is my daily driver, I am planning on factory mustang headers, dual exhaust and a cold air box as my first performance upgrades.
