Ok so since all the gauge stuff coming up yesterday I've been studying. I want to get the best bank for the least buck so to speak. I can go with stand alone fuel pressure gauge and EGT (when I need it) I'm guessing fully installed for a bit over 300--that's approximate. If I go with the Edge Evolution (SCT doesn't seem to be as expandable-but maybe it is) I will have tunes (which Im not concerned about just yet--but wouldn't have to buy a tuner later) clean set up for fuel pressure and egt (just the hookups no separate gauges) and backup camera (don't like the cheap one i have now) Seems that this would be the way to go or am I missing out on a piece of the puzzle that I haven't thought about.
Right now I've seen this unit for around 500 bucks. Keep in mind I do have a scangauge and torqpro so this is really just an upgrade with fuel pressure and egt both to add on later. I would like yalls opinion on this--would I be better served by just adding fp gauge and spending that money on something else on the truck. Thanks in advance.
Have you priced out everything you need to make the CS read egt and fuel pressure. ( EAS starter kit, universal sensor kit, and the pressure sensor its self)
yep--i would initially get the unit then add the fp and egt later.
EGT i won't need anytime soon--but that was my thought. Now the insight is much cheaper but would have to get a tuner later (will need that when I do the egr delete) I'm kinda thinking ahead where I can get this and add on easy--where as gauges-just install and done--but still have to buy the other stuff separate--does that make any sense?
The only reliable tuner for the 6.0 is SCT with custom tunes, the edge is a good monitor, period.
Kinda makes sense--I was just looking at Gearhead and didn't see anything for edge. So that makes that part easier--Evolution is out and would just look at the insight--which changes the equation a little bit but not much.

I have had an Edge CS programmer for 3+ years & it functions just fine
Plus I like the Dash Pod for this Unit as I hate those stupid Windshield suction-cup Mounts

Yeah if I was going to pay for a tuner I would go with the sct live wire. But if it's out of the price range then you can't. I run an edge juice with attitude cts. With egt and fuel psi. But I only use it as gauges it always stays on stock tune

Now that's a clean set up--I like that. On the programmer--you just use the canned tunes--no custom stuff?

Price seems comparable from what I can tell--but programming isn't at the top of my list--but the fp, egt, and back up camera is--I was thinking that the all in one solution would be the best so I wouldn't have to worry with one or the other later. What I really like on the edge stuff is the EAS. I'm sure the SCT livewire is about the same--but ready up it didn't seem as smooth--maybe thier propaganda isn't as good lol. I just priced the insight with just the fp and it's less than 500 bucks so that'ts not bad (although it's just a monitor) add the egt for another 130 and that's not bad either. I guess now I'm getting hung up on the tuner portion which I don't need right now--but would be handy at a later date.
Yeah i don't know what the live wire is with all the options. I will say that I love the edge and it's set up, is pretty simple almost plug and play to get all the extra pid's. And it's a clean install
Any other pros or cons on an edge set up?
I know as far as tunes there are a few on here that use tunes and aren't studded--I assume they are using gearhead stuff. King b--how are the tunes on the cs?

My truck is NOT studded (never been apart) Yes, I run Edge's canned Tunes & honestly my truck almost always stays on #2 (60 hp Tow). What I like about Edge is their CS Dept (questions or upgrading, very helpful) & everything has always worked flawlessly.
I have the Tuner, Pod, EAS Starter Kit, EGT Probe but someday I'll get a F.P. Sensor set-up. I also like the fact that I can adjust my Transmission Shift Points & especially Firmness to my taste.
Anyway not trying to convince what is better (I'd love to try a SCT actually) but for like 3 years my Edge has worked great, never hurt the truck & all the while pulling the 5'er all over on the "stock" TTY Bolt's

Thanks--that was info I needed. Don't worry about selling--I do my research but that will only get me so far lol. Main thing is that it not be a tranny killer or coal roller lol. Frankly ive never been a tune kinda guy--always got my power from hardware
I'm just wanting to get the right thing so I don't have to keep buying stuff and this type of thing seems to fit the bill as far as all in one with easy additions. Im not a big fan of having to engineer layouts on around the dash area either. My truck ix running great so I don't expect any problems anytime soon so I can ease my nerves up a bit and start doing the fun stuff to the truck.
