Code P2074

I haven't been on for a long time. Work and honey do's and all. I read some of the posts from time to time. Well truck just turned 50k mil. Check engine on and P2074 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Mass Air Flow - Throttle Position Correlation at Higher Load. Has any one come across this yet? Truck has been strong and free of problems sense the problem with the exhaust fluid pump and injector at around 15k Any info would be great. Im thinking this might be still covered under the 10 year 100k warranty. Thanks in advance for any info.

what I gather is it maybe a sensor or a leak somewhere.

Since it is on the motor I would think it would be covered.

What you can do is have your service advisor look the part up and see what the warranty is on it.

Most time those codes cause by bias MAF sensor or hung open EGR valve Maf only covered up to 3/36 egr is covered 5/100 and in rare cases I've had couple here at the dealer where turbo caused that code vgt vanes stick

My truck had the same code stored. The dealer replaced the MAF sensor and come to find out it's actually a hard code. They reset the check engine light after replacing the sensor and it came back on.

While they were waiting to hear from Ford I had an EGT sensor go out, had to have the truck towed to the dealer. They replaced the EGT sensor, reset the codes and hasn't showed back up in 30,000 miles.

I know it sounds strange but I wouldn't trust driving the truck right now if I were you.

ask for the warranty for the maf sensor. If the warranty is still good then I would consider taking it in.

Otherwise maybe buy the sensor your self.

Well I cleared the code and now have driven over 100 miles. No check engine light on. Ford will not cover maf. 3year/36k. I will drive it some more and if the light comes back on I will throw the $25.00 part at it.

I had this P2074 code come up last week so I got my truck in this past Monday morning and they replaced the MAF sensor as well as my 70k oil & service. Yesterday (Wednesday) morning I went and picked up my truck, then drove ~50 miles home and parked. Soon after I then went to a Dr. appointment and a couple other small errands before returning home and parking once again. Later in the afternoon I went and picked up my daughter from after-school and when cranking the truck to leave the church, the CEL was on again! I purchased an OBD2 bluetooth device and scanned the code myself. P2074 again! On a brand new MAF less than 1 day and 65 miles in use. I am now on at least #7 of CELs, as well as several other issues that have put me out 2-5 days of life each time. My Service Advisor says that my truck has not had any issue that he has not seen on other 6.7 trucks, but that he has not seen any truck with more than 1 of these issues - and my truck has had ALL of the issues he has seen on 6.7s!!! A FU@$!^* lemon! And my extended warranty is up in July, so I will not only be out of work and away from normal life, but also well out of pocket then! *shakes head* Seriously, at least a half day to bring it in. Then parts ordered, arrive and installed, ready next day. So at least 1.5 days out of my life each time. AT LEAST. This is an F450 that I use to pull a trailer for my WORK, so a rental does me no good in my work, and the time off cost me money AS WELL AS MISSING WORK INCOME. Top that off with the state of mind these facts put me in. Anyone want to put a dollar amount on that?

I have a call into Fords Customer 800# and am supposed to hear back from the "Regional Zone Rep" by end of day tomorrow. I want this truck either refunded, replaced, or another 4 years of full warranty coverage.

I would shoot for an extension of warranty. I think that is your best bet.

I want to see what I can do to put your mind at ease, PROxac. If you have your case number handy, send that over to me in a PM. If not, I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I'm here to help!

Im having that issue now, I have replaced the Mass air flow and Map sensors and still reading the codes. So I reset the engine light and see what happens next. But the Dealer obviously can’t figure it out, and they had my truck ( F 550 ) over a week and drove less than 5miles and engine light came back on. Stumped at this point.

The number 4 EGT (I believe) is causing your issue. Look above on the previous post by me.

Air Charge Temperature Sensor

Code p2074 came on my 2018 f250 when it had about 60k miles. I changed the MAP sensor & MAF sensor but the code came back.
i finally changed the "Air Charge Temperature Sensor", its the sensor that seats on the big ruber pipe (part# HC3Z-6F073-B) that connects to the intercooler.

but befor replacing just the sensor, remove the pipe to check if its busted, because that usually happens.
If the pipe is busted , buy the replacement pipe (HC3Z-6F073-B) wich usually comes with a new sensor as well.

After i replaced the "Air Charge Temperature Sensor" the code hasn't come on, its been about 4k miles already.
