Looking at picking up a 91 f250 with a 7.3 idi, 4 wheel drive and auto. The guy says the crank sizes after a full rotation both ways. To me that sounds like the piston is hitting a valve? Thoughts on this? Any suggestions would be great! Also what's the cruising speed like on the idis? I'm used to my 7.3 stroke with a 5spd
It SEIZES, perhaps? Hydrolock in one cylinder is not out of the question. Has the guy tried turning the crank with all the glow plugs removed?
Cruising speed will be roughly the same as your PSD, depending on the diff ratio of this truck and of your PSD. Fourth gear in the E4OD is actually a hair taller than fifth gear in a diesel ZF5. You'd have to know the diff ratio of your truck and of this prospect to know the real difference.
