Weird misfire

Hi,

97 4.6l 4wd, 167k miles. Owned and drove 5k miles in the past 4 years. About 3k miles towing 4-6k lbs. Replaced all plugs with motocraft 3k miles ago. I did egr/throttlebodu clean out when i first got the truck.

About three week weeks ago, I was leaving a stop sign and the truck engine started sturrering that went with a funky gassy smell. The check engine came on for p0307. I turned off the check engine light with my p0307 and it kept coming back.

A week later, I replaced the spark plug wire for cylinder #7. The code came back about 2 weeks later, 40 miles. I removed the plug and replaced it since the plug tip was wet with green fluid. I'm assuming coolant fluid.

Below is the opd plug with maybe 3k miles.

I replaced the plug and went for a drive. The cold came back after 5 miles with accleration to 65 mph. I forced cleared the code with scanguGe and hasnt been back since. The temp on the scanguage never gets above 188 F. I pulled the plug today with a cold engine that hasnt turned on for past 5 days and it was dry.

What do you think is wrong? Blown intake manifold gasket? Head gasket? Or something else?[/QUOTE]

It sounds like you have a head gasket problem with the coolant being on the spark plug. Does your coolant and oil level look good? And can you notice white smoke coming out of your exhaust?

Coolant looks fine. I changed the oil about a month ago and smell anything out of place. I didnt really examine the oil itself since i didnt think anything would be wrong with it. There is smoke when i start up, but i think that is only steam since the white cloud goes away after a few minutes. The exhaust doesnt smell sweat either.
